What customers say?

“ Shimane snow crab is very famous, and I'd always wanted to try it. Luckily, the restaurant had seats available that evening, but you only have 1.5 hours to eat. That's enough time to eat without chatting, but I recommend making a reservation by phone (there are no online reservations). The snow crab is sold whole by weight. Ours cost around 20,000 yen. The crab roe was incredibly fresh, with no fishy smell at all. The crab meat was plentiful, firm, and had a sweet, rich seafood flavor. Shiitake mushrooms seem to be a specialty of Shimane; many shops sell them. The fried shiitake mushrooms were large and meaty, sprinkled with sea salt, and had a perfectly balanced saltiness. The nigiri sushi set mainly featured white-fleshed fish, but I only recognized the top left as red sea bream and the top right as flounder; I didn't recognize the others. The meat was all firm and springy, with the standard texture of white-fleshed fish. ”

“ It was my first time eating sea urchin with salt The chef kindly taught me how to eat it ︎ It was delicious~ The shiitake mushrooms were huge and very juicy The oysters were huge too Σ(゚д゚;) Personally, they were a bit bitter and I didn't like them Is this what delicious food is supposed to be like!? Anyway, the alcohol is expensive, so I savored the food and enjoyed the drinks A real adult restaurant ”

“ The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious! I wish they had offered blackthroat seaperch sashimi, but the simmered dish was also very tasty, and the soft roe had no unpleasant odor at all. Overall, it's a little pricey, but the food is delicious and I'm satisfied. The conger eel tempura was also excellent. I wish there was a wider selection of drinks, and that there was also a selection of sparkling wine and other drinks. I'd like to go again. ”

“ Slightly upscale seafood izakaya restaurant, with private rooms and counter seats only. Serves seasonal catch of the day. English menu was a condensed version. So we ordered from the Japanese with some help from Google translation and recommendations from the waitress. Food was slightly pricey but all very fresh and prettily presented. Service was excellent too. Paid parking available just opposite at 100¥ per hour. ”

“ Ajidokoro Akejima is a small restaurant founded in 2004, located a five-minute walk from JR Matsue Station. The owner, who trained as a sushi chef in Nara, serves delicious seafood from the San'in region, and it's said to impress even the most discerning locals. I made a reservation two weeks before my trip to Matsue and showed up on the day. The counter was lined with fresh, delicious fish! My expectations were building...! After poring over the menu, I ordered the following: ・Sashimi ・Simmered Blackthroat Seaperch ・Conger Eel Tempura ・Butter-Grilled Shiitake Mushrooms This is the amount of sashimi for one person! And each piece was large and filling. And every piece of fish was so delicious it was breathtaking! I didn't stop there, so I switched from bottled beer to sake. The sake I chose was Shimane's Oroku, unfiltered pure rice sake. I love this dish, it goes great with sashimi! The simmered blackthroat seaperch is also really tasty! Grilled blackthroat seaperch is good, but simmered blackthroat seaperch is the best! It's well prepared and the seasoning is just right for my taste. It makes you want rice without even realizing it. The conger eel tempura was also delicious. It was big, so I was asked if I wanted to cut it in half, but I was so happy I left it as is! The conger eel meat was tender, and the batter was crispy. Absolutely delicious! The butter-grilled shiitake mushrooms were a rare treat, allowing you to fully enjoy the umami of the mushrooms. The rich flavor of the butter added to the thick Izumo shiitake mushrooms was just incredible. With both my stomach and my heart satisfied, I paid the bill. I was kindly sent off as I left the restaurant, and I vowed to always stop by again when I visit Matsue. Every dish was exquisite, and the atmosphere was great! It's the kind of place you don't want to tell anyone about. ”

“ Great selection of local seafood. We had a couple of tasty dishes never seen before. Sashimi moriawase had excellent fish & some rare fish like kue/九絵. (longtooth grouper) Great selection of local sake & Kirin on tap!!! All staff was friendly & helpful. Only the seating could have been a bit better; try to ask for first floor!!! ”

“ All the food was delicious. The prices are quite high, but this is probably the best restaurant in Matsue. The female staff were very friendly and the way they explained and recommended the dishes was great. The sashimi platter, conger eel tempura, salt-grilled blackthroat seaperch, simmered rockfish, sushi, butter-grilled shiitake mushrooms, steamed clams in sake, and even the clam soup at the end were all delicious and I was very satisfied. As for the alcohol, I chose Shimane's Gassan Sparkling Wine, which was easy to drink and delicious. ”
